Gorgeous house. Very spacious living area, with an amazing kitchen. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we could need. The grill was a little on the small size, but still worked out well. Bedrooms were amazing, heated floors for the entire house (including the bathrooms). and about a 5-10 minute drive to Squaw Valley. Not much on the negative side, except maybe the TV could have been nicer, but definitely valued the time spent with company over shows on tv.

My group and I had a wonderful stay at the house this weekend over Labor day. The house was beautiful, and looked just as it did in photos, though of course it was a little more worn than it was at the time the photos were taken. That being said, the amenities were fantastic, especially the indoor and outdoor hot tubs, and the sauna. The large entertaining areas were perfect for our group, as we spent a lot of time together in the living room. Some things for future renters to note: there is no large screen TV (which wasn't particularly an issue for us), the steam room didn't work, and the house is in a community and therefore very close to other houses. Also, there is no lawn or area outdoors for kids to play. For us it was a perfect place to stay for the weekend, though the asking price was extremely high, and that's why I'm giving 4 stars.

We had high hopes for this vacation venue. Unfortunately, many features were not up to our expectations: no air conditioning, nasty carpet, very dim lighting in bathrooms and throughout the house, dirty mini-pool, non-functioning indoor hot tub jets, non-functioning steam shower, no top sheets on the four bunk beds, very outdated bedding. This property has great potential with the proper upgrades, but it was certainly not worth the price we paid in august 2012. We would not consider coming back a second time.

Our two families (with grown children) shared this lovely house for a long weekend in Tahoe, where we'd come for a niece's wedding. The home is awesome. Surpassed all expectations. The space is perfect for relaxation and conversation. The upscale and thoughtfully done decor made us feel as if we were staying in a hospitable friends' home. And Pullen Realty also made us feel warmly welcomed. The location is convenient to everything on the west shore. Everyone hated to leave!

The house was very spacious and comfortable. It had a lot of very nice amenities. The massage chair was awesome, but the house could have used a big screen tv. While the indoor spa and pool jets did not work, having an indoor spa and pool was pretty cool. We had a great time. The biggest disappointment was the price. Forcing the renters to pay $200 for renters insurance, instead of having the ability to leave a deposit, was a joke. The house was $725 per night, but our 2 night stay was over $2,200 after they tacked on the massive cleaning fee, the manditory renter's insurance, and then taxed all of it.

Four couples enjoyed a wonderful stay in this huge, well appointed house. The location was very convenient to Squaw Valley and alpine. You definitely need 4-wheel drive in winter for the road to the house and the driveway. Our only complaint was the lighting in the kitchen and all but the master bedroom bathroom was very inadequate. We loved the big ski storage room off the garage, the comfy beds and the large dining room table where we shared some fantastic meals. Sitting in the super comfy chairs and couch in the living room watching the changing light on the mountain was delightful. Everyone at Pullen Realty was very nice and helpful to work with.

The house more than lived up to our expectations. Sometimes pictures appear better than reality; this was not the case in this house. We had 12 guests staying in the house and also invited friends over to dinner. Had room for everyone! We all loved the pool and steam room. Great location to get to Squaw to ski. We would definitely rent again!

If you are renting a large place such as this one, the idea is lots of family time and family meals. This home is very poorly equipped for cooking. There's a lack of kitchen utensils such as a scissors, potato masher, serving forks and spoons, salad bowls, serving bowls, etc. The pots and pans are a disgrace :( we had to throw away our food because the bottom of one (the only) large pot was losing the non-stick black material from the inside. In the kids bedroom downstairs, there's a pile of pretzels under the bed that have been there for quite sometime that need to be cleaned up! Also, 3 of our guests left the home with bites (they have now subsided) but we figured it was either spider bites or bed bugs (Eek). Due to the lack of snow in Tahoe we made good use of the indoor facilities. Hot tub and pool (small) were an absolute blast for the kids. The steam shower unfortunately worked only once and then broke down. The controls for the outdoor hot tub are in the garage. There was no indication of that anywhere in the paperwork. I did mark the folder with this information, it should be updated b the owners. If you like TV, this home is not for you. They have Tv's from the 70's or maybe 80's and yes, they are analog so the stop and go will drive you crazy. Get some flat screens!!! Aside from the lack of utensils in the kitchen and the no Tv's, we did like this home a lot and would rent it again but I would make sure that the food had been removed from under the bunks, the kitchen was better equipped and Tv's were updated. Personally, I'm not a huge TV fan but for this kind of money, the home should have at least 1 working TV. The surrounding area is beautiful and although there was no snow we still had a good time hiking the surrounding area.
Thank you for your review! Please read response from the Caretaker of this home:<br /> <br /> 1) The kitchen is generally well equipped for cooking and includes all necessary utensils and salad/serving bowls. A potato masher was purchased recently as were three new cooking pots of various sizes.<br /> <br /> 2) The caretaker always checks under the bunk beds for items left by kids and he did not see any pile of pretzels prior to this guest's arrival.<br /> <br /> 3) Subsequent to this guest's stay, an international family enjoyed the house for three weeks and did not report any similar bites as previous guests. The interior of the house gets sprayed regularly for insects.<br /> <br /> 4) The steam shower works just fine. An electrical breaker was flipped during their stay, possibly because the guests had too many space heaters on in one area. A simple phone call to the rental office would have solved this issue.<br /> <br /> 5) The TV's work fine and have digital converters. While they are not the modern flat screens (purchased in 92/93) they work unless there is a storm in which case even the newer TV's would not function correctly. We are in the mountains and the TV reception is a function of cable provider's signal strength which can be weaker at times.<br /> <br /> From the Pullen Team: We encourage guests to contact our office while they are in the home with their concerns rather than waiting until their vacation is over and they are back home. Thanks again for your review.

The home was comfortable...that is the greatest of compliments. we had two issues...the beds(other than the master) were too small. the skinniest of the couples took the regular size beds but at this price, i would think that all would have queen size, at least. the other issue is that we brought an extra table, but would have loved to have had folding chairs in the garage for all to sit at the same table. minor, but, stronger lights are needed in the bathrooms...putting on makeup was a challenge. pretty minor issues, but you already know all the wonderful things that have been thought through...games, puzzles, etc was perfect.

Better than the pictures show. The house is huge, well constructed, and well appointed, 4 large bedrooms + the basement bunk room makes it great for a group of couples and some singles...or a few families with kids. The house is well equipped with dishes, glassware, silverware, utensils, and appliances. Stereo plays i-pod throughout the house when connected. Only one complaint: for a 4500 sq ft house, there is only one 25 inch tube television in the basement. For what they're charging, its time for the owners to make a Costco run and pick up a new 50 inch flat screen for at least the basement - take out one shelf to the left of the tv and it will fit right in. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

3 families (3 kids) had a great stay at this wonderful home. We loved the wide open entertaining upper area with its soaring ceilings, the great fireplace, the lack of a TV upstairs, the indoor pool and spa, the outdoor in ground spa that is the deepest spa we have ever experienced. The steam shower downstairs was well used and the location couldn't be any better (just wished we had some snow!). the only 2 things that in our opinions would have made the home even better are the replacement of the old 20" tube TV downstairs with a modern LCD/led flat screen along with a DVD player (they only had VHS)and we thought sacrificing some of the workout equipment for a nice pool table would be awesome.

We stayed in the house for a wedding event in Tahoe area and it was a great setup for the family. Spacious place with lots of areas to play with the kids. Overall very safe. Cons: Early checkin was confirmed by agency and never communicated with the person in charge of cleaning. We showed up at noontime with babies wanted to nap and the cleaning crew wasn't even there - very disappointing. The shower is the master bedroom wasn't working the entire stay. A plumber showed up on Friday but didn't fix the issue and nobody followed up. Luckily there are other showers/baths in the house to use.

I can not say enough about this house. It far exceeded my expectations as far as any rental I've been in. The location was superb, the parking was easy, the house itself was outstanding, clean, well stocked, and had a nice 'lived in' feeling. The outdoor hot-tub was gorgeous with it's 'rock-scape' setting and lawn area...not just ker-plunked on the deck like so many.

We stayed four nights at this beautiful cabin, for our anniversary! it is a fabulous house with the exception of a couple of things. The televisions are out dated and the master bedroom tv was snowy and had a line going across the screen. (the new tvs are inexpensive today-they all need replaced- Also would like to see a flat screen above the fireplace to watch and enjoy the fire in the evenings!) There were several light bulbs out but still plenty of light. Never got the swimming pool to get above 75 degrees! (so never got to enjoy it although the jacuzzi end was nice and the steam shower Great!!! Never got downstairs Stereo to work, but it was not necessary, but wuold have been nice while in jacuzzi. Location is great for skiing-only a couple of minutes to Squaw Valley! Quiet area! Still would recommend this Beautiful House for large families of 6-10, but a little expensive for 4 or less! Still a great area to stay! One of our favorites places to visit for winter beauty!

Thanks again for your review.<br /> The Pullen Management Team.<br /> <br /> TV. There are plans to upgrade the TVs in the future, most likely in the summer or fall when the house is not rented as much. Cable company needs to come out when the snow is gone and attempt to improve the picture quality which is chronically bad in Squaw Valley and worse during winter months. We are exploring possibility of satellite TV dish but that has its technical challenges as well. So the picture quality is not guaranteed. <br /> <br /> 2. There are NO plans to have TV installed in the living area where the fireplace is. <br /> <br /> 3. Pool is functioning just fine, the temperature can be in the range of 80 to 85 degrees. It takes couple of hours to reach the desired temperature but if no one re- adjusts it, after 24 hour period it will go back to its original setting....energy saving mode. <br /> <br /> 4. Fireplace. Yes, real wood can be used, and has always been used. The gas starter inside the fireplace is not available to renters for safety reasons. <br /> <br /> 5. There are 2 working coffee pots, one newer and one older. <br /> <br /> 6. When there is snow on the roof some doors get sticky. That's just the fact of life in the mountains. The two doors to the outside decks were serviced last summer and work fine but again when you have tons of snow on the roof they may be sticky. The pocket sliding door in the half bath was also serviced last year but it does occasionally go off its track inside the wall and needs to be lifted up when that happens. It worked just fine last couple of months. <br /> <br />

This is a premium property without a doubt. It's a wonderful home with loads of comfort and convenience just a mile or so down the road from Squaw. We'd stay here again. We came with family and friends who also had children. Adults and kids alike were impressed and hated to leave the property. Other renters should be aware that it's hard to find things to point out that could be improved. Our only suggestions for improvement would be to around the check-in time and the fireplace. We arrived after 5:15 and there was work still going on to prepare the hosue but not an invonvience at all to us. It could be for others. And, understandably for safety reasons, the owners don't want you using the gas fire starter or real wood. They prefer you to use artificial logs. If I had a home that nice, I'm not sure I'd risk someone leaving the fireplace gas line on either. Oh, and the massage chair looks great but does not run. That would have been nice after a day on the slopes. In short, top-of-the-line property that is extremely well build and convenient. You won't be dissapointed, I promise.
